APRIL STUDENT OF THE MONTH
SKYLIER BAKERHORN
bakehorn Skyler
Mr. Strayer Nominated Skylier and here is what he had to say about her!
"Skylier Bakehorn is one of the hardest working, caring, trustworthy, and positive people I know.  Skylier has a way of bringing out the best in everyone.  She doesn’t judge a person before she gets to know them.  She has a sense of humor and knows how to listen.  Skylier has an amazing positive attitude that is very contagious.  She likes to take on challenges and doesn’t stop until they are completed.  When given a task, I know Skylier will get it done and done well.  Skylier is very intelligent and picks things up easily.  When she doesn’t fully understand a concept, she will work hard until she fully comprehends.  Skylier is also involved in many activities.  Her hard working ability and positive attitude allows her to do well in all of them.  I am privileged and honored to have had Skylier in class."
Congratulations, Skylier!

Huntington school of beauty will be hosting an open house for their cosmetology program on May 10, at 1:00 p.m. Any Students interested in the cosmetology program and would like to attend the open house must bring a parent that day.

Congratulations!
Cole Eberly!

Cole Eberly recently participated in the 2014 Scholastic Art Contest in New York, along with many of the students from Whitko High School's Art Department. Cole, however, received  a National Silver Medal for his Drawing entitled, " Shadow Box of Toys" now on display in New York City  at Carnegie Hall.  He won out of a field of 255,000 entries nation-wide where only 1% of the entries actually won any awards. Equally the Fort Wayne NE regional contest won the most awards of any region in the United States with the Whitko Art Department winning 38 of those national honors alone.  Daniel Malicki is the Art instructor at Whitko. Both Cole and Daniel are invited this June to the awards ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York.
